FAQ
About Syro
Who is Syro for?
Syro is science-led skincare designed to work across generations, for smart, busy women who want results without a complicated routine. Most products suit every age; our retinol products (Renew and R+) are for adults.
Who founded Syro?
Syro was founded by a mother and daughter who believe great skin isn't defined by age. We make fewer, better products based on research, not trends.
Where are Syro products made?
All Syro products are made in the UK.
Do I need different skincare as I get older?
No. Skin needs change with concerns like dryness, breakouts or sun damage, not with a birthday. That's why Syro is organised by skin goal (Hydration, Radiance, Texture, Recovery) rather than by age.
Are Syro products vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. All Syro products are vegan and cruelty-free.
Choosing products and building a routine
What's a simple Syro routine?
As simple as you want it to be. Every Syro product does more than one job, so a great routine can be just two products, and you can build from there.
- 2 products (the essentials): Soften to cleanse, then Shield SPF 50, a moisturiser and broad-spectrum SPF in one.
- 3 to 4 products: add Drench for deep hydration or Ultimate Strength Vitamin C for brightness in the morning, and Rich or Renew at night.
- Build as you go: add Refine once or twice a week for texture and breakouts, and move up to R+ when you're ready for a stronger retinol.
Start with the essentials and add one product at a time for the skin goal you care about most.
What should I use for dry or dehydrated skin?
Drench (hyaluronic acid serum) and Rich (peptide 72-hour moisturiser), with Soften as a gentle cream cleanser.
What should I use for breakouts or blemish-prone skin?
Refine, an AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser with 5% glycolic and 2% salicylic acid, alongside Drench for hydration and Shield for daily SPF.
What should I use for dullness or dark spots?
Ultimate Strength Vitamin C (20% L-ascorbic acid with vitamin E and ferulic acid) every morning under SPF, plus Refine once or twice a week. Refine's glycolic and salicylic acids clear away dull surface cells so skin looks brighter and vitamin C can work better.
What should I use for fine lines and firmness?
Rich in the morning, and Renew (0.5% retinol with peptides) at night. Experienced retinol users can move up to R+ (1% retinol).
Can teenagers use Syro?
Yes. Soften, Drench, Shield and Refine suit teenage skin. Our retinol products, Renew and R+, are for adults only.
How big are the products?
Drench, Rich and Shield are 50ml. Ultimate Strength Vitamin C, Renew and R+ are 30ml. Soften and Refine are 100ml.
Ingredients and safety
Is Syro suitable for sensitive skin?
Soften, Drench and Shield are gentle starting points. Introduce active products such as Refine, Vitamin C, Renew and R+ one at a time, a few times a week at first. Patch test any new product on your inner arm for 24 hours.
Which products contain fragrance?
Soften, Drench, Refine and Renew contain a light fragrance (parfum). Shield, Ultimate Strength Vitamin C and R+ are fragrance-free.
Can I use Syro while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Renew and R+ contain retinol and are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. For any other product, please check with your doctor or midwife.
Can I use vitamin C and retinol together?
Yes, at different times of day. Use Ultimate Strength Vitamin C in the morning under SPF, and Renew or R+ at night.
Can I use Renew and R+ together?
We recommend choosing one. Start with Renew (0.5% retinol); once your skin is comfortable, you can move to R+ (1% retinol) on the nights you'd use Renew.
Do I need SPF with Syro?
Yes, every morning, especially when using Vitamin C, Refine, Renew or R+, which can make skin more sensitive to the sun. Shield is a broad-spectrum SPF 50 that leaves no white cast.
How should I store Vitamin C?
Keep it in a cool place; storing it in the fridge helps it stay potent for longer.
How long do Syro products last?
All our products have an unopened shelf life of 3 years.
Where can I see the full ingredients?
Every product page lists the full ingredient (INCI) list and active percentages under Ingredients.
